I want to share a story about love for a sport, a struggle to survive, and the strength to keep going. In the beginning of 2020, I fell ill with infection and rapidly went into septic shock, survival rate for this is low and death is fast.

(Sepsis kills about 50 000 people in the UK a year… and roughly 11 million people per annum will die from sepsis globally)

Cycling and my unwavering will to live truly saved me after my intense battle with sepsis. I continue to embrace this invigorating sport not just for myself, but to stay strong and healthy, and I hope to inspire and help others who are facing similar challenges after everything I have been through in these past five years. Sepsis can feel like an unwanted gift that never completely goes away. While some people say that the effects fade over time, I personally feel their presence lingering—like shadows in the back of my mind—reminding me that they can return at any moment, leaving me with little control over when or how long these feelings will last.

In short, my battles are numerous and varied, each one a challenge that I continuously fight against in this annoying dilemma, but I truly believe they can be overcome through unwavering discipline, relentless perseverance, and dedicated hard work. In this supportive community, I will openly discuss what has helped me navigate through some of the toughest and most embarrassing times in my life. My goal is to help guide you on how to stay strong, focused, and disciplined as you embark on your own journey to become the very best version of yourself after overcoming SEPSIS.

Why Me!!!: The strength and struggle behind sepsis!

Why me? is a question that haunts all sepsis survivors.
